Matthew Rothman leads business development, overseeing sourcing, vetting, and dealmaking for investment management teams.
He joins Clear Alpha with more than 20 years of experience in the investment industry, including roles in portfolio management, business development, and institutional fundraising. His career spans hedge fund strategies across equities, credit, commodities, and volatility.
Previously, Matthew served as Managing Director at Paloma Partners, where he led business development, served on its Investment and Operating Committees, and onboarded strategies across discretionary and systematic equities, event-driven, volatility, and credit. He also co-founded and managed a systematic equities hedge fund, R&F Capital, and later worked as a managing principal at Phoenician Capital, a value equities fund. Earlier in his career, he held roles in venture capital at EuclidSR Partners and investment banking at Broadview Associates and Morgan Stanley.
Matthew holds an MBA from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics from Yale College.
